MENTAL SKILLS TRAINING

How do we improve as soccer players? That’s right, we PRACTICE!

We ALWAYS see soccer players working on their technique; working on their first touch, passing or finishing. Additionally, we also work with our coaches and teammates to improve our tactical decision making, with and without the ball. It can also be said that, during practices, we constantly work on the physical aspects of our game: strength, agility, acceleration, jumping, etc.

Now ask yourself this: do you practice the “mental” or “psychological” side of the game? It is no different than the technical, tactical and physical components of the game, you need to work on it, you need to PRACTICE! This page will get you started with some helpful exercises to begin your journey of improving the mental side of your game.
